Here are simple steps on how to make the poms. You'll need:
- 9 tissue paper sheets (20 X 25 inches)
- 36 inch piece of string
- 1 chenille stem
Take 9 tissue paper sheets of 3 different colors. Stack them on top of each other with similar colors together or alternated.
Fold all the layers together in accordion style leaving 1.5 inches wide.
Take the chenille stem and gently wrap it around the center of the folded tissue paper. Twist it around just once.
The 36 inch piece of string will be tied around the chenille stem by placing it under the chenille and secured into a knot.
Keep wrapping the chenille around the tissue paper till it gets wrapped properly.
With the scissors, trim the edges of the tissue paper in round or pointed cuts.
Place the tissue papers on the table and gently separate each layer. Do it one by one so that you don't tear or rip the pom poms.
Now it is ready to be hung from the ceiling. Always use a thumbtack to hang them.
